Our Favourite Flies For September
Late August and into September can offer some fantastic sport using Caddis flies. We love fishing them on their own with some Gink to keep the wing dry. or use as an indicator when fishing the dry and dropper method!

Towards the end of the season, river trout can become very fussy in what they eat. Having seen plenty of flies come past them over the past few months, It’s time to go small!
Arming your self with some small micro flies that imitate natural insects is your best chance at fooling fish that are taking flies off the surface.
Nymphs!
If you’re not fortunate enough to catch a hatch on your river fishing adventures. There’s always a chance of a fish using nymphs!
The Duracell Jig nymph is a must for your river box! Not only for trout but It’s a great fly for the grayling fishing too!

As we mentioned above, river trout can become quite picky and often refuse our flies we offer them! However, some simple changes might just make them take the fly!
A simple change of adding a couple more feet of tippet to the end of your tapered leader, especially in low water conditions, puts a little more space between you and the rising fish.
Using some degreaser or mud run along the whole leader to make it “invisible” will also give you the upper hand when it comes to targeting wise fish!
