Brown Trout Skulpin / Fry Patterns
There is no doubt that baitfish patterns are highly productive for Brown Trout which are highly piscivorous, especially as they grow. Brownies can frequently be found at the edge or rivers and lakes, indeed we have witnessed on many occassions Brownies working in groups of 3 or 4 particularly large fish (10lb plus) to move a small shoal of fry into the margins then attck them stunning them in turn and then returning to eat the stunned fish,
There are many sucessful Brown Trout Baitfish patterns, from Dan Byford's Zonker designs to modern patterns like the JC Cats Whisker where the Jungle Cock looks like fry eyes to Epoxy minnows, muddler minnows and cormorants.
