Traditionally known as North Country or Clyde Style Spiders and dressed with a minimalist hackle are favoured world wide as impressionistic patterns in both River and Stillwater fly fishing.

The sparsely dressed flies enable superior movement in the water giving the impression of an insect swimming. Some of the traditional patterns have been around for hundreds of years and there are some modern versions which are just as popular to the unsuspecting Trout. Spider patterns are especially effective in teams on Stillwaters or when swinging in the current of the River.

The Barbless Spider range is manufactured by Caledonia Fly Company known for quality flies and workmanship.

I was disappointed with colour of this wire as in my opinion it was more of a copper colour than the light gold as described. Apart from the colour the wire seems fine

Problem with other makes of Flex or Flexi Floss is that they are sold in cut lengths. UNI FLEXX FLOSS is packaged on a spool of 15 yards, so I can cut long lengths to suit the flies I'm tying. The Red Flexx Floss is just the right colour I was looking for. Great product, good price and speedy delivery from the essentially, thanks guys😊
