Jerry Lee Claret KIS Nymph
The Claret K.I.S. Nymph (Keep It Simple), originates from a long weekend in 2008 fishing Blagdon. Top fly at the venue was a dark Diawl Bach with a holographic rib and thorax cover. One evening I came up with a combination of claret peacock herl and the red holographic, as both tail and rib. The fly has caught over a hundred fish on mixed still water (both small and very large) taking both rainbows and browns. Fished in a team of buzzers either on the point or middle dropper with a very slow figure of eight retrieve mixed with a few long pulls produces hard hitting buzzer takes. If the fish are not showing on the surface either lengthen the leader of change to an intermediate line.

Tail: 3 strands of red prismatic tinsel
Body: 3 strands of claret peacock herl
Rib: Red prismatic tinsel
Head: Red Tread made large
