20-20 Magnetic Hook Threader For Fly Fishing

Bought this to try and got to give it a good test on a recent fishing trip in the mountains.
Didn’t hit 100% but I didn’t expect that either.
It did however save me loads of time otherwise used, trying frustratingly to thread flies in a hurry.
It is now permanently attached to my kit and I would recommend to those whose eyesight is less than perfect.

Having watched the pro-mo video I purchased this item to help me with threading smaller flies on to tippet material. It works fine on lightly dressed flies down to around the size 16 mark however I've found it near useless on dries smaller than this. When you get to size 20 and smaller the tippet often slips by the hook eye altogether. At the price I'm very disappointed with this product. As always, however, the Essential Fly service was excellent.

I bought this afternoon years of struggling to put my fly line through the hook after shattering my wrist after seeing this gadget and thought I'd try..
I went to the local Lough and in a stiff easterly used the tool and the leader went straight through what a great investment

Arrived quickly well packaged.

A plastic grooved device with a strong magnet underneath to hold the hooks eye down. Seems to work ok on most flies without protruding breathers etc. A bit expensive at nearly £15 with postage but helps out tired eyes. May be better off using hook clips.

Great little gadget and will come in really useful. the lanyard clip could be a bit more substantial but apart from that im happy.

I was extremely surprised that such a simple device could be so effective.
My eyesight is very poor and the Threader will be a great asset. I do feel that the price is well over the top for what an item that has a low production cost however for me it is a price worth paying to be able to change flies when on the river. O

For a 76 yearold angler the threader is extremely helpful and has prevented the habit of continuing with an unsuccessful fly due to problems of changing atb waterside.

A neat and compact gadget, which does what it says on the label. Just managed an afternoon's fishing without using reading glasses once.
